Karen Joan Hanson Youngman, 69 of Kodak, TN, formerly of Elkhart, passed away on June 28th after a 13 year battle with cancer.
She was born July 12, 1945 to Lloyd and Donabelle Hanson who preceded her in death. She was a loyal wife to Charles Youngman for 51 years. They lived in Elkhart most of her life then moved to Dandridge, TN. She is survived by her husband Charles, and 3 daughters; Christine (David) Drew of Dandridge, TN, Corinne Virrill of Smyrna, GA and Charlene Haitsma of Elkhart; Grandchildren, Bradley (Lydia) Drew, Katie Lowery, Cassidy Drew, Katrina (Landon) Conrad, Jordon Haitsma and Liam Virrill; Great-grandchildren, Paige Lowery, Issac Drew and Eylan Drew. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Deb) Hanson and sisters, Diane (Charlie) Lacefield and Sue, (Joe) Chupp.
For those who knew her, she will be remembered as a person of great strength both physically and emotionally. She will truly be missed.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 pm Friday, July 3rd at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where the funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
