Karl W. "Pete" Peterson

Karl W. “Pete” Peterson, 80, of Edwardsburg, MI, died July 6, 2010 at 5:05 pm at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born February 1, 1930 in Elkhart to Walter W. and Catherine (Baker) Peterson. On May 22, 1954, he married Janet P. Patrick in Elkhart. She died January 27, 1988.

He is survived by 2 sons Dale (Jennifer) Wagoner of Elkhart, and Rick (Stephanie) Peterson of Osceola; 2 daughters Roberta (Matthew) Clark of Edwardsburg and Rebecca (Leo) Frankenberger of Bristol; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother Robert (Marina) Peterson of Escondido, CA. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Robert Christopher Peterson, brother Walter Peterson, Jr. and sister Lois Bowers.

Mr. Peterson retired after 34 years as a supervisor at Wells Cargo Inc. He sponsored a fast pitch softball team for many years in Elkhart, and served in the US Army in the Korean War.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart with funeral services at 11:00 am Monday. Rev. Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery.
