Katheryn N. (Nifong) English

Katheryn N. English, age 95, of Goshen passed away on February 3, 2022 at The Laurels of Goshen. Katheryn was born on August 7, 1926 in Fredericktown, MO to Alex and Freda Nifong. Katheryn married Paul H. English on September 23, 1946 in St. Louis, MO.

In Katheryn’s youth she was a “Harvey Girl” at Central Station in Missouri. She also enjoyed playing volley ball and playing pool. She truly loved spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katheryn is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Doug) DeSmith of Bristol, IN. and Susan (Harry) Plaisted of Arcadia, MO; grandchildren Lisa (Jon) Howell and Harry Plaisted; great-grandchildren Jon, Kaitlyn, Paige and Harry IV. Katheryn was preceded in death her parents Alex and Freda Nifong, her husband Paul and her brother Alex Nifong.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road., St. Louis, MO 63125.
