Kathryn M. Stein

Kathryn M. Stein, 92, of Elkhart, passed away Friday Dec. 27, 2013 at Woodland Manor.
She was born Apr. 14, 1921 in Harrison Township, IN to John and Viola (Beck) Miller.

On Dec. 27, 1946 in Niles, MI. she married Phillip Stein who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1991. She is survived by 5 sisters: Dorothy Lehman of Palm Bay, FL, Loraine Platz and Jeanne Naylor both of Bristol, IN, Marjorie Fisher of Howe, IN, and Charlene Gates of Santa Rosa, CA.; many nieces and nephews including Syrena McIntosh and Tecia Petersen of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by a sister Gwendolyn Maas and a brother Robert E. Miller.

Kathryn worked at GTE for 10 years as a supervisor but mainly was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers and baking and she loved animals.

There will be a memorial service at the North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses
at a later date. She will be buried next to her husband at Prairie Street Cemetery. `
Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Elkhart County.
