Kathryn L. Wambaugh

Kathryn L. Wambaugh, 91, of Elkhart, died at 1:40 pm Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born September 28, 1917 in Warsaw, Indiana to John and Nora A. (Bules) Blosser and married Christian F. Wambaugh on February 26, 1943 in Elkhart. He died on July 14, 1988. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including caregivers, Betty and Abe Wertenberger of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur W. Blosser and Robert J. Blosser and a sister, Carolyn King.

Mrs. Wambaugh retired as a registered nurse at Elkhart General Hospital where she was a floor supervisor. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Starlite Chapter 181. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, South Bend, in 1941.

Friends may call from 3-7 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart and an hour prior to the 11:00 am service on Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 831 W. Marion Street, Elkhart. Reverend Tim Diemer will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
