Kathy Ann Mann, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday Jan. 5, 2019 at home.
She was born June 28, 1949 in Goshen to John “Jocko” L. and Arlowene Ann Miller. On May 3, 1969 she married Dennis L. Mann who survives along with 2 sons: Dennis (Machell ) Mann II and Brian L. (Jennifer) Mann; 8 grandchildren: Kevin, Meghan, Zachary, Brock, Alexis, Jillian, Logan and Ethan; a brother John L. (Judy) Miller II, brothers-in-law: David (Sue) , Gary (Ann) and Raymond (Julie) Mann; nieces and nephews Todd (Cheryl) Miller and Troy (Kanesha) Miller, Danny Mann, Eric Mann, Amy (Frankie) Coomer, Greg (Sally) Mann, Lisa (Chad) Ward, Kelly (Dwight) Luna and Jeff (Christine) Mann and a very special sister Linda Eby Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 grandsons: Ryan Michael and Connor Matthew Mann.
Kathy graduated from Elkhart High School in 1967. She was co-owner of Kathy’s Ceramics and manager of the floral and crafts departments at Palmer Hardware for 14 years. Secretary for Metal Working Machinery for over 10 years prior to her retiring. She was the daughter, wife, mother and grandmother of the fire fighters within Elkhart County. She was recognized with a plaque for the Mayor of Elkhart and the Elkhart Fire Dept. for helping with the demonstrations and education of the Elkhart Fire Dept. Smoke House. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working in their yard and gardens. She also enjoyed making strawberry pizza for the fire fighters. Her proudest achievements were the 49 years of marriage to her best friend, Dennis and most of all the birth of their 2 sons, Dennis II and Brian. She was so proud of the loving, honest, loyal and great men and fathers they have become.
Visitation for Kathy will be from 4-8 pm Wed. Jan. 9th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to her funeral service on Thursday, Jan. 10th at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Biller will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
