Kristine J. Wiltfong

Kristine J. Wiltfong, 65 of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19th at the Elkhart Hospice House after an extended illness.

She was born Jan. 2, 1952 in Elkhart to Samuel and Dorothy (Montagano) Wambaugh. She married William E. Wiltfong on Jan. 31, 1970. Surviving are 2 sons, Ryan (Amy) Wiltfong of Bristol and Andrew (Tina) Wiltfong of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren, Jackson, Rylee, Cameron, Lily, Noah and Sophia; her siblings, Martha (Chuck) Richardson of Sebastian, FL, Johnny Wambaugh and Frank Wambaugh both of South Bend, Jackie Jo (Mike) Brewers of Elkhart and her father, Sam Wambaugh of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on Sept. 5, 2012, and her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Jack Kidder.

Kris graduated from Elkhart High School and Elkhart Beauty College. She was a homemaker and a member of Christiana Creek Country Club and the Women of the Moose. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sisters, and playing cards with friends at the Moose Lodge.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. A procession will leave from the funeral home at 10:45 am Wednesday, Aug. 23rd to St. Vincent’s Cemetery, where a graveside service will begin at 11 am. Father Jason Freiburger will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Elkhart Hospice House.
