L. Jean Pletcher, 83 of Bristol, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1930 in Elkhart to Leo G. and Bertha A. (Wittenberg) Clementz. She married Kenneth E. Pletcher on July 4, 1954. He survives along with 4 sons, James A. (Karen) Pletcher of Middlebury, Matthew J. (Patricia) Pletcher of Bristol, Jeffrey A. (Karen) Pletcher of Middlebrook, VA and Michael J. Pletcher of Goshen; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Linda (Kennon) Shorthouse of Elkhart. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James L. Clementz.
Jean graduated from Elkhart High School in 1948 and was a homemaker and Kenny’s fulltime secretary. She was an active member of Beulah Missionary Church, serving as financial secretary and on the finance board. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, reading, and bible study.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21st from 3-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and an hour prior to services at 10 am Thursday, May 22nd at Beulah Missionary Church, Goshen. Pastors Bill Richardson, Brent Poe and Chris Garner will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery.
