L. George Ramsey, 66, of Vandalia, MI, died at 12:10 pm, February 2, 2010 at his home.

He was born March 7, 1943 to Ira Leo and Ruth (George) Ramsey in Rainelle, WV and married Lillian D. Rinehart on May 24, 1963. She died September 9, 1990. Surviving are 3 sons, Edward G. Ramsey of Vicksburg, MI, Christopher P. (Kim) Ramsey of Vandalia, MI and Daniel L. (Jenny) Ramsey of Edwardsburg, MI; 1 daughter, Lisa A. (Jeff) Bienz of Vandalia, MI; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Midge (Del) Woolwine, and Sue (Jack) Denney both of Elkhart, IN, and 1 brother, Edward (Christy) Ramsey of Bristol, IN.

Mr. Ramsey retired as maintenance supervisor for Liteco, formerly Ramco in Elkhart. He previously was an iron worker. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local #292, South Bend. He liked to fish and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He loved his children and grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart. Services will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Chapel Hill Missionary Church, 14525 Chapel Hill Street, Union, MI. Reverend Ken Bontrager will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Bristol.
