LaRue E. Poe

LaRue E. Poe, 66, of Elkhart, passed away Monday Feb. 7, 2022 at his home. He was born July 14, 1955 in Elkhart to Ralph E. and Ada M. Poe.

On May 31, 1975 in Elkhart, he married Caroline J. Noel who preceded him in death on Apr. 3, 2014.

LaRue graduated from Elkhart Central High School Class of 1973. He worked for AACOA Extrusions since 1974, retiring as a supervisor in 2017. He was a member of Fresh Start Church, part of the Christian Missionary Alliance.

Surviving are his children, Andria (Kevin) Burkus of South Bend, Ryan Poe of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren: Korbin and Mallorey Burkus and Ellie C. Poe, siblings, Diane (Brian) Hart of Edwardsburg, John Poe and Dee Dee Poe both of Elkhart, bothers-in-law Doug Myers and Steve Bagwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Caroline and sisters Dixie Myers and Debra Bagwell.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 7pm, Thursday February 17, 2022 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514.
