Lena Pearl Gayhart

Lena Pearl Gayhart, 69 of Elkhart , IN passed away on Monday, November 11,2024 at her home with her family by her side. Lena was born on February 20, 1955 to Andrew and Nennie Wilson in Barbourville, KY. Lena married Ellery Gayhart on Friday, September 13, 1974 in Elkhart, IN.

In her youth Lena worked as a machinist, however the job she loved most was being a wife, mother, sister and grandma. Lena enjoyed researching her family history, she would spend hours doing genealogy. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Lena is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Ellery Gayhart, their daughters Sandra (Michael) Dees and Heather (Matthew) Hettinger, honorary sons Stephen Wilson and Christopher Ford, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister Emma (James) Klett and brother Leon (Carol) Wilson. Lena was preceded by her parents, sisters Marie Smith, Beulah Williams, Ann Lopez, brothers Charles Wilson, Gene Wilson, Amos Wilson and Lonnie Wilson.
