Letha Gay (Cutler) Phillippe, 93, of Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen IN passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus May 31,2019
Letha was born on September 1,1925 in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of Samuel and Mamie Pearl (McClane) Cutler.
Letha was married on June 9, 1946 to Charles W. Phillippe and remained married until his death in 2010.
She is survived by her sister, Joy (Cutler) Fortinberry, Lecanto, FL, three children, Alan Craig (Peggy) Phillippe of Baudette, MN, Carla (Michael) O’Connell of Bristol, IN and Charles A. (Cyndie) Phillippe of Kevil, KY, seven grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and many extended family and friends.
Letha was primarily a house wife and stay-at-home Mom, but worked two part time jobs over the years. Boston Jr. High School cafeteria in La Porte, IN, and Kabelin True Value Hardware, La Porte. She and Charles lived in several Indiana towns transferring with Charles' job. They retired to Ruskin, Florida in 1981 and lived there for 23 years until returning to Indiana to be closer to family.
Letha was a member of the United Methodist Church and VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She loved to sing and yodel, and enjoyed dancing. She especially liked to Jitterbug, Polka and Swing dance. Her hobbies included camping, gardening, crocheting and playing games and cards with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with family.
As per Letha’s wishes, she will be cremated with Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements. A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, IN.
