Levi B. Wise, 86 of Union, Michigan died May 2, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. at home. He was born on December 4, 1922 in Goshen, Indiana to Benjamin & Ethel (Dubbs) Wise. He married Onalee M. Gentry on July 9, 1947 in Roseland, Indiana.
She survives along with a son, Edward (Diane) Wise of Union, Michigan; three daughters, Jeanne (William) Russell and Patti Lott both of Union, Michigan and Sandra Heath of Bristol, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Sherman Wise of Indiana and Harold (Shirley) Wise of Edwardsburg, Michigan; three sisters, Idella Sensenbaugh of Elkhart, Indiana, Elva (Warren) Anglemyer of Union, Michigan and Phyllis Wilhite of Wildomar, California. A brother, Harry and two sisters, Iva Ervin and Pearl Comer preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Monday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M Tuesday at Kessington Cemetery in Union, Michigan with the Reverend Steve Steele of Kessington Community Church officiating. Representatives from the United States Army and the Disabled American Veterans Post 19, Elkhart will conduct military graveside honors.
Mr. Wise was a retired welder and farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his tractor. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and attended Kessington School.
