Lillian Marie Skubus, 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen, IN. Lillian was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in New Jersey for many years. In 2008, she moved to Elkhart, IN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Widman and a niece, Joanne Polland. In November, 1944, she married Clifford Skubus. He preceded her in death in 1983. They owned and operated several different restaurants in the Bucks County, PA area and in 1971, they moved to Hopewell, NJ, where they owned and operated Cliff’s Corner Store and adjacent Craft shop. They were both enthusiastic “crafters.” Lillian was also a lover of books and trips to Florida. She was involved with various civic organizations, including the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Penndel, PA and Deborah Hospital in Brownsmill, NJ. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Joan (Curt) Girton of Bristol, IN, Pam (Jim) Caldarale of Willingboro, NJ, and Swan (David Johnson) Skubus of Bradenton, FL, and a sister, Jacqueline Hieber of Langhorne, PA. She loved being “Nunny” to her 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
