Linda I. LaFountain, 70 of Elkhart, passed away January 14, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born March 5, 1942 in Plainwell, MI to Clyde and Mildred (Knickerbocker) LaDuke. She married Robert L. LaFountain on Sept. 17, 1966. He survives along with a daughter, Renee (Scott) Friesner of Elkhart; Step-children, Robin VanDerley, Kelly Walters and Eric LaFountain all of Allegan, MI; 3 grandchildren, Kelsey Ballard, Nathan Stickel and Riley Friesner, a great-granddaughter, Willow Ballard and 3 brothers, Michael (Rosemary) LaDuke and Kevin (Sue) LaDuke both of Plainwell, MI and Clyde (Sharon) LaDuke of Ostego, MI. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Mark LaFountain.
Linda retired from Key Bank as a teller after 33 years. She attended Fellowship of Hope in Elkhart and was an avid reader. She collected cups and saucers and loved her family and animals.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Fellowship of Hope in Elkhart with visitation an hour prior. Pastor Suella Gerber will officiate. Inurnment will be a Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County or Second Chance Small Dog Rescue.
