Linda Lou McKenzie

Linda Lou McKenzie, 79, of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at The Terrace in Fort Wayne. Linda was born on April 16, 1945 in Elkhart, IN to Robert and Helen Mitchell. She married James “Jim” McKenzie on October 19, 1972 in Elkhart, IN.

Linda loved being a wife to her husband, mother to her daughter, a grandmother to her grandchildren and a friend to many. Linda will be sadly missed. She participated in Ministry Formation Program with Sisters of St. Joseph in  Kalamazoo, MI. She belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon, MI. She loved to landscape and had an eye for decorating her home.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Stephanie McKenzie (Price) of Ft. Wayne, IN and her grandchildren, Monika (Kevin Arias) McKenzie, Matthew McKenzie Meyer, Mary Katherine Muthusamy and Joey (Erica) McDonald; her brother, Robert Mitchell of Fairbanks, AK; great-grandchildren Aaliyah McKenzie Meyer, Scarlet Meyer, Jaxston McDonald and William McDonald; niece and nephews, Vicki (Stan) Edson, Nick (Heidi) Sward, Robert (Jacque) Mitchell; great-nieces and great-nephews, Lynee (Brian) Perkins, Paige (Ben Muiser) Sward, Anna Sward, Sarah (Matt Todd) Sward; great-great nephews and great-great niece Eric Perkins, Harrison Mitchell, Wilson Mitchell, Emmett Sturgis and Jane Sward. Linda was preceded in death her parents Robert and Helen, husband Jim McKenzie, sister Sharon Mitchell-Lundgren, stepson Todd McKenzie and son-in-law Mchael Price.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 16603 US-12 White Pigeon, MI 49099 with visitation one hour before the mass. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Memorial donations may be to the church. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting Linda’s family.
