Linda J. Newton

March 13, 1942 — September 14, 2017

Linda Jean Kidder Newton, 75 was born at Elkhart General Hospital to A.E. and Jean Kidder. She married Harry Newton at Grace Brethren Church in 1963. He survives along with 2 daughters, Reverie (Chris) Collins of Taylors, SC and Cynthia (David) Geiman of Goshen; 8 amazing grandchildren and four precious great-granddaughters; her mother, Jean Kidder of Goshen; 3 brothers, Toby (Nancy) Kidder of Goshen, Al (Sue) Kidder of Soldotna, AK, Jerry (Pat) Kidder of Osceola and a sister, Jan (Clifton) Newton of Elkhart. Also a lot of special cousins and nieces and nephews.

The most import decision she made was at ten years of age when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Linda graduated in 1960 from Elkhart High School and was also a student at Grace College for two years. Her working career consisted of mostly part-time and included American Association of Jewish Evangelism, Elkhart City Water Works, Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart Baptist Christian School, Elkhart Clinic and Atlas. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 50 plus years and deaconess for many of those same years. She was a member of the Michiana Dystonia Support Group. Genealogy, Bible Study and scrapbooking for her family were some of her favorite things along with SKIP BO and other table games with family and friends.

Thank you to each one who helped and encouraged her and Harry medically, physically and spiritually, especially the past several years as she fought stage 4 cancer. Also, special thanks to a couple who delivered delicious homemade meals weekly for over 2 1/2 years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 16th from 12pm to 2 pm at Sugar Grove Church, Goshen, where her funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Camino Global Missions Fund for the Collins Family #082560.

Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.
