Lola Faunee Godair, 79, of White Pigeon, Michigan passed away July 15, 2008 at Greenleaf Living Center in Elkhart.
She was born November 22, 1928 in Griffithville, Arkansas to William Harve and Lola (Shore) Vance and married James L. Godair on October 27, 1945. They later divorced and he died on January 6, 1990. Surviving are 2 daughters, Shirley Ann (Richard) Ferguson of Beaumont, CA and Joyce Evonne (Steve) Wiseman of White Pigeon, MI, 1 son, Gerald LaRue (Elizabeth) Godair of Mount Morris, MI; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a brother John B. Vance of Dowagiac, MI. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Sim, Henry and William Vance and 6 sisters, Elizabeth Bragg, Glendolia Hambrick, Gladys Pankey, Irene Rideoutt, Chloe Mae White and Lodius Penrod.
Mrs. Godair retired after 25 years as a general assembler for General Motors Co. in Flint, Michigan.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, and 1 hour prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Friday at the funeral home. Reverend Tom Clark will officiate. Burial will be at Little Pine Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimers Disease Association, American Cancer Society, or the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
