Louis P. Fodroczi, 81, of Elkhart, passed away September 24, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born October 3, 1930 in Elkhart to Peter and Elizabeth (Magyery) Fodroczi. He first married Arlene Alwine, and then married Judith Hayden on February 2, 1979 in Elkhart. He is survived by his wife Judy, 5 daughters, Karen (Gene) Berg and Kimi Fodroczi of Queen Creek, AZ, Kristi Williams of Mesa, AZ, Kathy (Dean) Smoyer of Show Low, AZ and Kolene Saboe of Phoenix, AZ; 4 stepchildren, Dawnn (Terry) Myers of Elkhart, Tad (Charity) Hayden of Phoenix, AZ, Karyn (David) Hoots of Bristol and Matt (Lori) Hayden of Union, MI; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Louis served in the U. S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War and retired after 42 years from CTS Corp. He also was part owner of the Silver Star Christmas Tree Farm for 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bristol. He loved to fish and was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan. After his retirement, he played Senior Softball for 16 years and won 5 National Championships.

Visitation for Louis will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Friday at St. Mary’s Church. Fr. Bob VanKempen will officiate. Burial will be at St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
