Louis Goldy, Jr., 82, of Bristol, died November 7, 2010 at 1:30 am at his home. He was born August 2, 1928 in Elkhart to Louis, Sr. and Marle (Copenhaver) Goldy. On February 18, 1950 he married Mary A. Sekora in Elkhart.
Surviving along with his wife Mary are 2 daughters Debra Stutsman of Middlebury and Cheryl (Craig) Bartley of Elkhart; 2 sons Gregory (Nancy) Goldy of Elkhart and Timothy (Amy) Goldy of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters Geraldine Owens of Seattle, WA, Sara Siler and Mae Crosslin both of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Snedaker and 2 brothers Fredrick and Kenneth Goldy.
Mr. Goldy retired after 28 years as foreman and supervisor at CTS Corp. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Elkhart, The Elkhart Vintage Auto Club, and CTS Quarter Century Club. He was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan, and coached Osolo Little League baseball. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
Friends may visit the family from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. A vigil service will be held that evening at 6 pm. Father Bill Sullivan will officiate at a Mass of Christian burial 10 am Thursday at St. Thomas Church where military services will be rendered by the US Navy. Cremation will follow with burial in St. Vincent’s Cemetery at a later date.
