Louis Dominic Toby

Louis Dominic Toby, 80 of Elkhart, Indiana died May 7, 2008 at 7:43 P.M. at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.He was born on April 19, 1928 in Sesser, Illinois to Joseph W. and Theresa (Gualdoni) Toby.He married Patricia Costic on May 23, 1953.

She survives along with four sons; Mike, Rick (Lynn) both of Elkhart, Tim (Sanni) of Fishers, Indiana and John of Saugatuck, Michigan, eight grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.

Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart. A vigil service will take place at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1108 South Main Street, Elkhart. Father Phillip DeVolder will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery with the Disabled American Veterans providing a military graveside service.

Mr. Toby worked for Selmers for 46 years where he assembled musical instruments. He was a member of the St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church where he served as an usher, a lifetime member of the I.A.R.A., and a member of Maplecrest Country Club. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 179th Infantry Regiment Company I. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
