Louise Snyder, 80, of Mishawaka, IN formerly of Osceola, IN passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Louise was born on October 15, 1944 in Sturgis, MI to the late Homer Jay and Anna Marie Dean. She married her high school sweetheart Robert “Bob” E. Snyder, Jr. on March 28, 1964. Together they lived in South Bend, Bremen and Osceola.
Louise graduated from Penn High School, class of 1963. Louise was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN where she assisted in preparing meals for funeral luncheons. She was the Past-President of the St. Joseph County Homemakers Club. Quilting and sewing has been Louise’s passion since 1987. Louise and Bob enjoyed hosting friends over for a fun night playing cards and dice games. They enjoyed going out to eat and just simply spending time with friends and family. Louise also enjoyed traveling, reading and crossword puzzles. She loved to dance with Bob to their special song, Can I have this dance for the rest of my life.
Louise is survived by her children, Cynthia Singleton, Keith (Kelli) Snyder, Christopher (Leanette) Snyder; and Andrew (Padonna) Snyder, Donna (David) Adkins; grandchildren Jeffery Singleton, Jessica Singleton, Jay Singleton, Sarah Snyder, Kassandra Snyder, Karli Snyder, Cameron Williams, Dee Williams, Elizabeth Snyder, Christopher Drake Snyder, Ryan Bryner, Jared Snyder, Jake Snyder and EmmaLee Adkins and 12 great grandchildren, and her sister Joyce ( Richard) Nicely. As well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and her special friends. Louise was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Lee Snyder and Dennis Snyder; and her sisters Barbara Hillebrand and Jayalene Durbin, as well as Bob’s favorite dog Foxie.
Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 11:30am on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, with Father Bill Meininger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before mass at the church. Louise will be laid to rest next to Bob at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial at a later date.
