Magdalena Simon, 76 of Bristol, passed away May 21, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on July 3, 1935 in Yugoslavia to Michael Kaufmann and Fransiska Leipold. She married Alexander Simon on February 2, 1954.
He survives along with a daughter, Erika (Bob) Reese of Bristol, two sons, Reinhold (Valentina) Simon of Goshen, Guenther (Paige) Simon of Elkhart, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister, Elisabeth (Elias) Klemm of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by daughter, Brigitte Simon and a sister, Teresia Pilch.
Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing with a vigil service at 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 AM Saturday at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church with Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
Mrs. Simon retired from Gemeinhardt Company in Elkhart. She was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was her husband of 58 years, her children and all of her loving family and friends. She loved to cook, bake and was a loving and gracious giving person thinking of others before herself. She took pride in her home and working in her colorful flower gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lymphoma Society or St. Thomas.
