Manuel Raya Martinez,59 of 53586 County Road 27, Bristol, Indiana died December 28, 2008 @ 8:00 A.M. at home.He was born June 16, 1949 in Anahuac Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Juan Raya Hernandez and Ma del Carmen Martinez. He married Beverly Brower on March 8, 1976 in Laredo, Texas.
She survives along with a daughter; Angel Raya of Bristol; four brothers, Jesus (Petra Soria) Raya Martinez and Jose (Isabel Gonzalez) Raya Martinez both of Mexico, Juan Raya Martinez of Laredo, Texas and Benito (Elizenda Villarreal Alanis) Raya Martinez; three grandchildren and two sisters, Maria (Jose Sanches) Magdalena of Laredo, Texas and Petra Roya de(Fidel) Padilla of Mexico.Three brothers, Rafael, Martin and Gudalupe and one grand-daughter, Cheyenne preceded him in death.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart with the Reverend Fred Stayton of Bristol United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will follow service.
He worked for Vitco Inc. in Nappanee in the maintenance department for the past 10 years.He was a member of the Bristol United Methodist Church.
