Margaret L. Ball

Margaret L. “Marge” Ball, 80, of Edwardsburg, Mich. died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the South Bend Hospice House.

She was born on January 23, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. to Stanley Earl and Lois Zoe (Fowler) Johnson and married Thomas D. Ball on October 6, 1979 in Elkhart. He survives with 3 sons, James (Sandra) Todd of Houston, TX, Daniel R. Todd of South Bend, William E. (DeAnn) Todd of Bristol, a stepson, Daniel M. (Heidi) Ball and stepdaughter, Kristine A. Gove both of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Marge retired in 1980 as a bookkeeper for Vernon M. Ball, Inc. where she worked for 5 years. She previously had been a bookkeeper for various other businesses. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club. She loved animals and enjoyed shopping and being with her family.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where services will be at 2 pm Friday. Pastor Tim Diemer will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger at a later date. There will be a luncheon served at Grace Lutheran Church, 831 West Marion St., Elkhart before the services at the funeral home.
