Margaret H. Frahm

July 29, 1938 — January 20, 2015

Margaret “Madge” Frahm, 76, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2015 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart where she had been a resident since April, 2013.

Madge was born in Pipestone, MN on July 29, 1938 to the late Dr. John and Anastasia Lohmann, the second of nine children. She was a graduate of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. On Nov. 19, 1960 she married James Frahm, with whom she shared over 54 years of marriage. Madge and Jim moved to Elkhart in September, 1973 where they raised three wonderful daughters. Madge was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Elkhart.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughters, Katie (Jim) Eggert of Woodbury, MN, Susan (Koen) Demmer of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Mary Margaret “Micki” (Bob) Morrison of Lady Lake, FL; 4 granddaughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 8 siblings and their families.

Madge and her vibrant and outgoing personality was loved and appreciated by all who had the good fortune of knowing her.. she truly never met a stranger. Except for a brief period of employment at the Elkhart Area Career Center, she was the classic “Stay at Home Mom”, always making sure her children were driven to their large variety of athletic and musical events as well as being the anchor at home for them. She loved to dance, play golf, play tennis, cook, entertain, and make sure she was always there for her husband and children. She will be sorely missed by all.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, Jan. 24th from 11 am to 12 pm at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Elkhart. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 12 pm. Father Jason Freiburger will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Eastlake Nursing Center or Harbor Light Hospice, Mishawaka. Cremation will take place per Madge’s request.
