Maria L. Chupp

Maria L. Chupp, 74 of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
She was born Feb. 20, 1942 in Nashville, TN to William and Margaret Duby. She married Clarence L. Chupp on June 21, 1975. Surviving is her son-in-law, Timothy Miller of Elkhart; 3 granddaughters, April Black of South Bend, Erin Ptasienski of Mishawaka and Dawn Miller of Elkhart; 4 great-grandchildren, Lilyana, Arihanna, Claire and Kolton; 1 sister, Mayre Hardy of Long Beach, CA and a 2 brothers, Bill Jackson of Eagle Point, OR and John Duby of Shingle Springs, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her daughter, Sharon Miller and her parents.
Maria was a homemaker and a wonderful grandma and caretaker. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a volunteer at the Elkhart General Hospital Breast Center for 15 years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Sept. 24th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where family and friends may gather from 11 am to 1 pm. Interment will follow at Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
