Marion E. Hylton

Marion E. Hylton, 86, of Elkhart, went home to be the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Riverside Village.
He was born April 13, 1925 in Indianapolis to Posey H. and Mabel R. (Massey) Hylton. He married Alice I. Suhre on Aug. 16, 1947. She died Oct. 21, 1995. He then married Doris June Hesterberg on Sept. 3, 1997. She died Aug. 31, 2000. Surviving are a son, James E. (Karen) Hylton of Elkhart, a daughter Lois (Paul) Perkins of Anderson, IN; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Joann Armstrong of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a son, David Hylton, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Marion retired as a grocer after 59 years having worked at Standard Grocery Store, Stop-n-Shop, Richard Market Basket and 7-11. He was a member of Community Church at Murphy’s Landing and enjoyed electronics, flowers, and gardening. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 pm at Shirley Brothers, Fishers-Castleton Chapel, Fishers, IN where services will be held at 11 am Tuesday. Pastor Tim Hewitt will officiate. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Garden, Whitestown, IN where military graveside honors will be rendered.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
