Marion J. Wyland

Marion J. Wyland, 92, of Elkhart, died at 6:30 pm, January 28, 2010 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born January 21, 1918 in Syracuse, Indiana to Marion S. and Gertrude A. (Bushong) Wyland and married Wilmett Dick on May 28, 1941 in Rochester, Indiana. She preceded in death on May 16, 2007. Surviving are a son, Michael (Virginia) Wyland of Milford, IN; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Alice Burke of Elkhart. A sister, Merriam Moran preceded in death.

Mr. Wyland graduated from Elkhart High School in 1936 and retired from New York Central and Penn Central Railroad as a trainman after 39 years. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Kane Masonic Lodge #183, Elkhart and the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend.
