Martha Ann Morris

Martha Ann Morris, 98, of Elkhart, passed away Friday April 5, 2024 at Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. She was born May 11, 1925 in Hartford City, IN to James F. and Ruth F. Willman. On June 25, 1948 in Hartford City she married John H. Morris who preceded her in death in 1997 after 49 years of marriage.

Martha earned her Batchelor’s Degree from Ball State University and taught music in the elementary grades for Concord Schools.  She was the Choir Director at Simpson United Methodist Church for many years, and did the special music at Hubbard Hill. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children, Jill Morris, John Q. (Angelica Guerrero) Morris, Ann (Gary) Mills, Molly (Kevin de Queiroz) Morris, Sally (Bruce) Wanstall, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, family friend, Mosun Oshogwemoh, and a nephew Jim (Marge) Willman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother James F. Willman III.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday April 11, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Visitation will also be from 10-11 am Friday April 12 at Faith United Methodist Church 22045 C.R. 18 Goshen, IN 46528, where a Funeral Service in her honor will begin at 11AM.  Pastor John Hogsett will officiate.  Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
