Mary Janice Decker-Cathcart, 79, of Union, MI, passed away Sunday at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1933 in Stewart County, TN. to Robert E. and Lillie F. (Dowdy) Manners. She married Chester Virgil Decker who preceded her in death. She then married Norman Cathcart on March 27, 1999. He survives with her son Steven (Elizabeth Carey) Decker of Talent, OR; 3 daughters, Janice Kaye Long of Lawrence, KS, Karen Sue Cathcart of Kalamazoo, MI and Cynthia Jean Yoder of Elkhart; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Louie and Paul Manners and 2 sisters, Clara Martin and Gladys Bellar.
Mary graduated from Guthrie (KY) High School and was a bookkeeper for many years.
Per her wishes cremation will take place and no services are scheduled. Memorials may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
