Mary Jane Fisher, 94, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday Mar. 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born Mar. 6, 1922 in Quincy, MI to Harry and Mary Agnes (Rahrig) Gordon.
In 1941 she married Donald B. Tavernier who preceded her in death in 1951. On Sept. 10, 1952 in Nappanee she married Richard E. Wall who preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1993. On Oct. 30, 1995 in Ocala, Fl. She married Estel A. Fisher who preceded her in death on June 24, 2009.
Surviving are her children Don A. (Laura J.) Tavernier of Jones, MI, Karlene J. (Thomas) Christianson of Bristol, Robert D. (Kathy) Wall of Bristol and Rebecca Ann (James) Waltz of Elkhart. She loved her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Mary Jane graduated from Vogue Beauty School in 1957 and opened her own shop in 1964 called Mary Jane’s Beauty Salon then known as Bristol O’Hair Port and is now the Electric Pineapple with 4 generations and 5 family members carrying on her traditions. She was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Women of the Moose Lodge #599. She enjoyed playing pinochle, singing in the church choir, working with the Boys and Girls Club and spending time with her sisters quilting, fishing and laughing.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 pm Sunday March 20th at Bristol United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the 11 am service Monday March 21 at the church with Rev. Fred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
