Mary Elizabeth Freshour, 62, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on February 6, 2025, at her home. Mary was born on July 13, 1962, to Carey and Barbara Jeffries, in Elkhart, IN. On September 6, 1997, Mary married Gary W. Freshour, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2014.
Mary is survived by her mother, Barbara Jeffries, of Elkhart, IN; daughter Sarah (Daniel Morando) Jeffries, of Elkhart; her boyfriend Mike, “Mustang Mike”; grandkids, Nautica Jeffries, Ronald Sargent, and Romero Rivera; great granddaughter Navea Sargent; great aunts, Havilan Horner, Brianna, and Kayla Freshour; nieces and nephews, Kiley Wise, Nick Horner, Bailey Eden, Stacey (Robert Irwin) Storer, Kerry Freshour, Randy Freshour, David Durden, Christopher Eden, and Elizabeth Wise; sisters, Karen Freshour, and Betty Sharp. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Freshour, her father Carey Jeffries, her grandmother Elizabeth Mass, her Uncle Bob; sister Kathy Eden; nephew Matthew Freshour, her Aunt Rose, and her Aunt Mitt.
Mary was a devout worker at Taco Bell for 16 years and worked with her daughter Sarah at Dometic Corporation for 5 years. She loved collecting bracelets, M&M souvenirs, the Grinch, and her favorite rock band was ACDC. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family while going shopping and always testing the waters by trying new restaurants. She would travel with her daughter Sarah, granddaughter Nautica, and her mother Barbara. She would also go on many adventures with her niece Stacey, and her boyfriend, Mustang Mike. Mary was also an avid people watcher. Her and her mother would sit out in the garage and give a friendly wave to drivers passing by to spread joy and love to all. Mary will be deeply missed by all those that loved her.
Visitation will be from 2-5 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, IN 46514, where Funeral Services will begin at 5pm.
