Mary Sue (Frisby) Meeks

Mary Sue Meeks, 80, of Bristol passed away on December 9, 2019 at the Elkhart Hospice House. Sue was born on November 8, 1939 to Leslie and Alta Mae Kirchner in Elkhart, IN. She was adopted by George and Evelyn Frisby. She married Fletcher H. Meeks on June 30, 1962 in Elkhart, he preceded her in death on December 8, 2010.

Sue graduated from Elkhart High School Class of 1957. Sue and her husband started an antique business in 1970 which evolved into an oak furniture business “Oak Plantation” in Shipshewana, the business dissolved in 1996. She then worked at  Das Essenhaus for 10 years, from 1994-2004. She enjoyed travel, shopping, reality tv shows and lifetime tv. She had an infectious laugh. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved life and serving God.

Sue is survived by her children; Joseph (Jeanette) Meeks of Bristol and Susie (Edward) Wade of Bristol, her step-son Frank Meeks of Elkhart, IN; her grandson Kyle Wade and 3 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sonja Dimos, brothers, Larry Frisby, Joseph Frisby and Step-Son Gary Meeks.

Funeral services will be at 11am on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514. Friends may visit one hour before services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shore Mennonite Cemetery.
