Mary C. Vanator, 81 of Mishawaka, passed away early Monday morning at The Waterford at Edison Lakes in Mishawaka.
She was born August 4, 1934 in Elkhart to Dominic and Teresa (Campiti) Furfaro. Surviving are 2 sons, Jeffrey (Stefani) Bloch of Portland, OR and Robert (Nichole Beauregard, Fiance) Vanator of Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Kay) Furfaro of Mishawaka and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bloch, sister, Angeline Cataldo and brothers, James and Anthony Furfaro.
Mary was a beloved homemaker who was very proud of her Italian heritage. She deeply loved her family, cooking, and hosting family gatherings.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 25th at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Elkhart where family and friends may gather from 10 am to 11 am Wednesday in the Vincent Hall. Fr. Matthew Coonan will officiate. Interment will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Vincent DePaul Church. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com.
