Mary Jane Wells

Mary Jane Wells, 92 of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at Greenleaf Health Campus.

She was born Sept. 18, 1924 in Ross County, Ohio to Melvin and Mary Belle (Wildman) Maughmer. She married Donald S. Wells on Nov. 26, 1946 in Greenup, KY. Surviving are 3 daughters, Cynthia Wells-Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Jennifer (Ron) Randolph of Danville, IN and Laura (Craig) Bultemeier of Goshen, IN; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Bruning, Nicole White, Peyton Randolph, Brett Bultemeier and Claire Shawver and 6 great-grandchildren. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Donald, a granddaughter, Heather Johnson, a great-grandson, Corwin Bultemeier and 3 sisters.

Mary Jane retired as a computer specialist after 30 plus years for Banks Lumber Co. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as Church School Superintendent. She was very active in Bible Study Fellowship. She was past president of the Elkhart City Facultywives and a member of the P.E.O., who will render a memorial service during the visitation.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, Sept. 18th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 pm. Pastor Tim Burchill will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
