Maxine H. Beasey, 81, of Goshen, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen.
She was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Tefft, IN to James A. and Virginia L. (Nelson) Margison and married Keith Beasey on June 5, 1948. He died Aug. 7, 1991. Surviving are a son, Michael (Diane) Beasey of Middlebury, a daughter, Vicki (Edward) Myers of Goshen, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert Margison of New Mexico and 2 sisters, Donna Saunders of Middlebury and Joyce Gross of Bristol. 2 brothers, Harold and Byron Margison preceded in death.
Maxine retired after 5 years at RTI as marketing operations manager and previously worked in management for 10 years at Continental Industries. She went into semi-retirement working for Holmes Insurance selling insurance. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Middlebury and was a member of Elkhart County Christian Women’s Club. She was active as a volunteer at the beauty shop of Elkhart General Hospital, CAPS and a well known volunteer for SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program).
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart and an hour prior to the 11 am Monday service at Bristol United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Chesher of Faith Baptist Church, Middlebury will officiate. Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery.
