Maxine “Mickey” Conrad, 88 of Elkhart, passed away October 31, 2013 at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 16, 1925 in White County, Indiana to Max M. and Ada (Tomblin) Krallman. She married Richard N. Conrad on December 29, 1945 in Elkhart. Surviving are a daughter, Pat (Tom) Hartzler of Goshen and a son Michael (Janice) Conrad of Elkhart; Grandchildren, Denise (Michael) Happer, Jeff Hartzler, James Conrad, Renee (Eric) Yoder, and Cheryl Conrad; Great-Grandchildren, Alex Happer, Lauren and Jenna Hartzler, and Natalie and Case Yoder; Sister, Shirley Rimpler of Houston, TX and 2 brothers, Joe (Alice) Krallman of Wakarusa and Gene (Maria) Krallman of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Conrad, and brothers, Richard, Tom, and Harry Krallman, sister, Alice Miller and a great-grandson, Zachary Happer.
Mickey graduated from Concord High School in 1942 and worked for Buescher Band Instruments, Martin Band Instruments, C.T.S. Corporation and Top Value Stamp Store. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 7th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center. Visitation will also be an hour prior to the 11 am service on Tuesday, Nov. 12th at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Pastor Andrea Hickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
