Merry Carol Delks

Merry Carol Delks, 79 of Elkhart, IN. passed away on April 23, 2013 at 12:04 am at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on December 23, 1933 in Decatur, IL. to
Donald L. and Margaret (Rose) Harris. She married Gerald F. Delks on Jan. 1, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN.
He survives along with three daughters, Julie (Mark) Campbell, Laurie (Fran) Yonkers and Angela Wills, three sons, Steven (Stacie) Delks, David Delks and Richard (Betsy) Delks, Grandchildren, Hollie 41, Tyler 25, Colin 20, Carson 17, Leland 16, Brittany 28, Nolen 15, Rylee 13, Courtney 26, Emily 20, Allison 17, Adam 13, Bryce 17 and Brandon 15 and one great grandson, Coen 5. Merry had 2 brothers, Bud and Donald, deceased, a sister, Sue, deceased, two living sisters, Linda and Margaret and two sister-in-laws, Mary Geneva and Patricia Delks.

Friends may call from 12-2 and 4-6 on Friday with the funeral service at 6 PM
at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart with Pastor James Fischer officiating.

Mrs. Delks retired from Elixer Industries after 20+ years as an office manager. Her faith in God was very important to her. She deeply loved her husband of 61 years, children and grandchildren. She was active in supporting the Women’s Care Center, Toys for Tots, and Children of Third World Countries. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren at their various activities.

Merry was a positive, uplifting example to others. She was a blessing in every life she touched with her fun loving spirit that only found good in others.
