Michael R. Garver Sr.

Michael R. Garver, Sr., 58 of Elkhart, passed away April 16, 2012 at IU Health-Goshen Hospital.

He was born July 29, 1953 in Elkhart to Robert J. and Barbara A. (Ziesmer) Garver and married Jonna D. Noland on Dec. 17, 1994. She survives with a son, Michael R. (Brittany) Garver, Jr. of Elkhart; 3 grandsons, Michael R. Garver, III, Wyatt Smith, and Kemper Garver; His mother, Barbara A. Smith of Elkhart; 1 brother, Greg Garver of Elkhart; 3 sisters, Penny (Bill) Wine and Sandi Geier of Elkhart and Melanie (Dave) Cuthbert of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Garver, his stepfather, Howard (Ray) Smith and brother-in-law, Tony Geier.

Michael was an RV transportation driver and worked in the RV Industry since the late 1970’s in different capacities of manufacturing. His passions were drag racing and his love for dogs. He built his own roadsters and won several trophies in car shows.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart where a memorial service will begin at 7 pm. Rev. Carl Bassett will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
