Michael T. Happer, Sr.

Michael T. Happer, Sr., 78, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday Sep. 1, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born March 8, 1937 in Elkhart to Thomas V. and Marian S. (Schutt) Happer. On Aug. 29, 1959 in Elkhart, he married Gloria J. Holdeman, who survives along with a son Michael T. (Denise) Happer, Jr. of Elkhart and a daughter Jeanne M. Davis of Elkhart, a grandson, Alex Happer and a brother Peter C. (Enid) Happer of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Zachary Happer and a sister Anne Happer.

Mike graduated from Elkhart High School in 1955 and attended Goshen College for a year before joining the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He retired from Miles/ Bayer in 1999 after 35 years in shipping/ receiving. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting, casinos and going to movies.

Private graveside services will be held at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Elkhart County.
