Michael Brian Stahl

ELKHART - Michael Brian Stahl, 42, of Elkhart, passed away with his loved ones by his side, Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at his home, after an extended illness.

He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, October 21, 1969, to Vaughn and Jacqueline (Leonard) Stahl.

His wife, Susan, survives with his son, Timothy M. Stahl of Elkhart, his mother, Jacqueline Stahl, Elkhart, one sister, Joan and Roger Smith, and three brothers, Doug and Judy Stahl, Mark and Yvonne Stahl, and Bradley and Michelle Stahl, uncles, Brian Rohleder and David Doorley, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Stahl and a niece, Ashley Stahl.

A 1987 graduate of Elkhart Central High School. He continued his education and later graduated from Indiana University of South Bend, achieving a degree in engineering. After Mr. Stahl enlisted and served honorably for twenty- two years with the U.S. Navy, with his most recent service in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2008 until 2009, he retired as a Navy Chief in January, 2010.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. A Military Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart with Military Honors.
