Michael E. Ward

Michael E. Ward, 60, of Elkhart, passed away March 7, 2009 at 5:51 pm at Golden Living Center.

He was born June 27, 1948 in Paris, Illinois to Francis and Isabelle (McDaniel) Ward. Surviving are 3 sons, Mark Ward of Elkhart, Joe Ward of Ozark, AR and Travis Gritzmaker of Edwardsburg, MI; 2 daughters, Linda Marie of Dearborn, MI and Ashley (Randy) Wilson of Edwardsburg, MI; 2 step-daughters, Lanora Semas and Angela (Lamar) Mast of Elkhart, a step-son, Clinton Ottman of Elkhart, 4 sisters, Norma (Frank) Henson of Oakland, IL, Peggy (Kenneth) Huckstep of Charleston, IL, Sally Marcella of Paris, IL and Nancy Shelley of Elkhart; 3 brothers, Bill Ward of Elkhart, Ronnie (Sally) Ward of Vandalia, MI and Junior Ward of Greenwood, IN; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Ward.

Mr. Ward had worked for Bull Moose Tube Company as a salvage saw operator and loved to draw, do wood carvings and read his Bible.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday. Pastor Bob Wood of the Worship Center in Elkhart will officiate. Cremation will follow services.

Memorials may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
