Mildred E. Renn

Mildred E. "Millie" Renn, 95, of Elkhart, passed away at 9:22 pm, November 25, 2008 at Valley View Healthcare Center, Elkhart. She was born on April 10, 1913 in Elkhart, Indiana to Judge Claude and Maude (Wickhem) Lee.She married Wilmer Alfred (Al) Renn on February 28, 1937 in Elkhart, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1999.

Survivors include a son, John Charles Renn of Ionia, Michigan; a daughter, Carolee Grace Searles of Elkhart; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Renn was the secretary & receptionist for her father's law office, a Welcome Wagon Lady, worked in her brother-in-laws print shop and also as a secretary to the director of the YWCA. She was a member of Central Christian Church where she was known as the Pansy Lady and a member of their choir; a Girl Scout Leader; 4 H Leader; Oxbow 8's Square Dancing Club; Theater work at the Elkhart Civic Theater; AARP; Home Demonstration Club Chorus; Riverview Adult Daycare Center and attended UUFE Church in Elkhart. She was a graduate of the Elkhart High School Class of 1932. Memorial contributions may be given to the Central Christian Church.
