Miles E. “Pat” Kitner, 78, of White Pigeon, MI, died November 20, 2010 in Moriarty, NM as he and his wife were traveling to their winter home in Tucson. He was born March 17, 1932 in Elkhart to the late Miles L. and Marguerite (Stemm) Kitner. He married Rebecca Stallter on August 24, 1974 in Constantine, MI.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca of White Pigeon; a daughter Karen Sue (Jack) Rorie of Elkhart; a stepson Jerry A. (Michelle) Cocanower, Jr. of White Pigeon along with his step-children from a previous marriage; 5 grandchildren Yalonda, Yavonne, Landon, Andrew and Megan; 2 great-grandchildren T.J. and Rose; and a sister Janet I. (Morris) Kenigsberg of Tucson.
Miles graduated from Elkhart High School where he played basketball. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed farming, was a Notre Dame sports fan and retired after 47 years from CTS Corp. working as a millwright. He was a member of the CTS Quarter Century Club and the UAW #941.
Friends may visit the family Friday from 10 to 1 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart, with funeral services beginning at 1 pm. Major Steve Woodard from the Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery with military graveside honors rendered by the US Marine Corps. and the DAV #19.
