Miriam E. Bilbee

Miriam E. Bilbee, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday Jan. 23, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Jan. 12, 1931 in Claypool, IN to Robert and Margaret (Jenkins) Herendeen.
Miriam marred James L. Bilbee in 1956 in Elkhart. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1988 in St. Ignace, MI. Surviving are a daughter Jo Ellen (Steven) Anderson of Elkhart and a son Mark (Jody) Bilbee of Vassar, MI, 5 grandchildren: James (Traci), Derick, Zach, Kate (Shane) and Megan; 2 great-grandchildren Taylor and Jonathon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Larry and Donald.

Miriam worked for Miles Laboratories in the 1950’s after graduating from high school. She and James owned and operated Gateway Lanes in St. Ignace for 12 years. Then she worked for McGregor Oil in St. Ignace in the accounting department for 30 years.
She loved all her family especially her grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30pm Wednesday Jan. 27 at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool, IN. with Pastor Mike Settles officiating.

Memorials may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
