Modean Lemons

Modean Lemons, 87 of Elkhart, IN. passed away March 7, 2013 at home.

She was born June 9, 1925 in Coffee Co., TN. to Ben and Mattie (Floyd) McCollough. She married Dewey W. Lemons on Feb. 15, 1943 in Alabama. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (William) BeCraft and Sallie Williams and a son, Billy (Doris) Lemons all of Elkhart, nine grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and three sisters, Bobbie Sexton of Muncie, IN. , Peggy Phelps of Parker, IN. and Sibie Brandon of Manchester, TN. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Daniels, Lad, J.W. and Jr. McCullough and five sisters, Lena Pearl Brosslin, Earline Farrell, Callie McCullough, Ethel Brandon and her twin sister, Christine McCullough.

Friends may call from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing where services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday. Rev. Elmer R. Caudill will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart

Mrs. Lemons was a member of the Willowdale Church of Christ and was very family oriented. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
