Morris J. Jones, 84 of Middlebury, IN. passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 8:20 P.M. at Eastlake Terrace. He was born on Feb. 14, 1928 to Claude and Treva (Vinning) Jones. He married Lydia L. Williamson on March 20, 1950 in Richmond, IN.
She survives along with three sons; Wesley of Elkhart, Douglas of Columbus, Ohio and Randall (Anne) Jones of Bristol, two daughters; Karen (Chris Wolfe) Jones of Bristol and Teresa (Tom) McFall of Ellisville, IN., 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Roberta (Melvin) Gerstner of Union City, IN. He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Jones, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marlene Jones and a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Joe Graham.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing. Burial will take place at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Jones was operations manager for Dometic Sales, Inc. for many years. He also owned Midwest Eastern Transport and Metropolitan Real Estate. Being born in Ohio he was an Ohio State University and Cincinnati Reds fan. He graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict as a medical corpsman. Memorial contributions may be given to the Harbor Light Hospice.
