Mozette F. “Mo” Stachel, 90, of Elkhart, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Greenleaf Health Campus. She was born July 29, 1921 in Guymon, OK to Frank and Myrtle Marie (Baker) Foreman . She married Paul Campbell in 1944 and later married Earl Stachel in February of 1979. He died June 17, 2009. Surviving are 3 daughters, Cheryl Campbell (Keith) Martin of Bristol, Carol Ann Campbell of San Antonio, TX, Paulette Campbell (Mike) Zornig of Athens, GA and 1 son, Tom Campbell of Elkhart; 3 step-children, Don (Sue) Stachel of Middlebury, Ron (Marcia) Stachel of Elkhart and Nancy Fairfield of Indianapolis; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Maureen Morrison of Norman, OK and Mildred Steinmetz of Stockton, CA. A son, Lawrence R. Campbell, 3 brothers and 3 sisters preceded in death.
Mozette graduated from the University of Oklahoma and earned her Masters degree from I.U.S.B. She was a teacher for 18 years at Beardsley Elementary School and was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Elcona Country Club, Elk’s Lodge, Women of the Moose, P.E.O. and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and dancer. She loved to travel.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the 11 am service on Saturday, Feb. 4th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Reverend Karen Bray will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Bristol.
