Nancy Lee Augustine

Nancy Lee Augustine, 72 of Elkhart, IN passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Nancy was born on March 9, 1952 in South Bend, IN to Adeline and James P. Coleman, Jr. Nancy married John Augustine on September 2, 1972 at Sacred Heart Basilica at Notre Dame.

Nancy was born and raised in the catholic faith, from her youth at Holy Family Catholic Elementary School to graduating from St. Joseph High School. She worked as an executive secretary for the University of Notre Dame, an executive secretary in marketing at St. Joseph Valley Bank and she was a bank teller at 1st National Bank. In 1985 she worked alongside her husband at ABK Vacuum Sales and Services, where Nancy helped with sales and handled the books. Nancy and John enjoyed hosting family and friends over for pool parties, where she always made sure her yard looked beautiful. Most of all Nancy loved to spend time with her family. She taught her grandchildren how to sew and enjoyed making different crafts with them. Nancy even set aside Wednesday as “Nana Day” where she would spend with her grandchildren. She was always at their dance recitals, school activities and sporting events. She will be sadly missed.

 Nancy is survived by her husband of over 52 years, John. Their daughters Kimberly (Tony) Gruber of South Bend, In and Amanda Augustine of Santa Fa, NM; grandchildren, Anna, Anthony and Vinny Gruber; and Nancy’s siblings Frank (Deanna) Coleman of Elkhart and Paulette Collins of Wakarusa, IN. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Adeline and James P. Coleman, Jr. and her brother James P. Coleman, III.
